Dialogue session on gender equality in Kirkuk Governorate

As part of the global campaign for equality in the right to grant citizenship, the Women’s Leadership Institute implemented a dialogue session on gender equality in the Iraqi nationality law in Kirkuk Governorate in cooperation with the Office of the Human Rights Commission

The importance of the desired reforms to achieve gender equality in nationality rights was discussed to enhance equality in this human and legal right and to discuss the negative effects of not addressing this issue

The negatives and positives of amending some legal articles within the current Iraqi nationality law of 2006 and the opportunities and challenges facing that were also discussed
