The session discussed the harmonization between women’s right to grant citizenship with Iraq’s international legal obligations, as the Nationality Law in force in Iraq No. 26 of 2006 is one of the modern legislations that enhance the principle of equality for women. The law stipulates that Iraqi citizenship is a right for every Iraqi, and it is the basis of his citizenship, and anyone born to an Iraqi father or an Iraqi mother is considered Iraqi
