The Women Leaders Institute successfully concluded its specialized training program, held from May 14-16, 2026, in Baghdad. The program saw significant participation from representatives of civil society organizations across Iraq working in the fields of women’s rights and peacebuilding.
The training program covered several key areas, including:
- Effective digital communication strategies.
- Tools for monitoring fake news and combating disinformation.
- Analyzing and countering anti-women media discourse.
This training is part of the Women Leaders Institute’s efforts to enhance women’s roles in the media and community spheres, and to develop the capacity of civil society organizations to engage with modern media discourse, thereby contributing to a more informed and equitable media environment.
Participants emphasized the importance of this workshop in strengthening their practical skills and facilitating the exchange of experiences among civil society organizations from different governorates. This fostered collaboration and coordination on women’s issues and media.
The training resulted in raising participants’ awareness of media monitoring and analysis mechanisms, enabling them to use effective tools to combat fake news, in addition to strengthening coordination and cooperation among participating civil society organizations from various Iraqi governorates, which contributes to supporting women’s issues and enhancing their positive presence in the media and society.
