Domestic Violence

As part of the “Women’s Leadership, Empowerment, Access & Protection (LEAP)” project in Iraq, supported by UN Women and the Government of Japan, the Women Leadership Institute’s Kirkuk Safe Space organized a focus group discussion with seven women on domestic violence on October 1, 2019. The discussion tackled causes of domestic violence, its consequences and possible means to prevent it.LEAP project aims to strengthen the resilience of refugees and host communities by providing immediate and essential services to women affected by conflict, including access to economic opportunities and effective multi-sectoral services, protection mechanisms and empowerment support.
